The 8" Hoffman Crew Boss is a hybrid powerhouse engineered specifically for the rigors of wildland fire environments and forestry operations. By blending the lightweight, supportive chassis of a technical mountaineering boot with specialized fire-resistant materials, the Crew Boss provides wildland firefighters and forestry professionals with the agility needed for steep ascents without sacrificing essential heat protection.

• Flame-Resistant Fire Line Engineering: Built with 2.8 mm fire-resistant leather and stitched entirely with high-strength Kevlar® thread, the upper is designed to withstand the extreme heat and abrasion encountered on the fire line and during heavy timber cleanup.

• Heat-Resistant Traction: The boot features a specialized Vibram® heat-resistant, anti-slip sole. This outsole is engineered to maintain its integrity in high-temperature environments while providing a secure foothold on the loose, ash-covered, or rocky surfaces common in wildland operations.

• Mountaineer Stability for Steep Terrain: A full-length 5.5 mm tapered nylon midsole provides the rigid lateral stability required for side-hilling and navigating mountainous terrain, yet it is tuned to flex naturally during steep climbs to reduce foot fatigue.

• Advanced Thermal Comfort: The interior is lined with a multi-layer Arona fabric, offering high breathability to manage heat during high-exertion shifts. Fire-retardant laces and a cushioned contour insole ensure a secure, comfortable fit from the first whistle to the end of the shift.
